Wedding photographer always bears the important responsibility in capturing the moment and the wedding ceremony. I took the challenges again to capture the wedding of my client at Alor Setar during the mooncake festival. It was a great shoot! I can see my style of wedding photography changed obviously compared to my previous wedding series. It is a good sign as i can see my own improvement in wedding photography!
It was a chinese traditional wedding event. There were two photographer this time, wei shun and i were the shooter! I had my girl friend susan as my assistant for the trip and she did a great job in handling my daily stuff! William and Janet were a good and easy going client and nice to talk to them! We had a good cooperation for the shooting and our shooting plan went very well without much problem! Anyway i rated 8/10 for this wedding, i left 2 more points for further improvement! It was my second visit to Broga Hill this time, my first visit is HERE. So i named this series Broga Hill Revisited. With my newly upgrade gear i went there for a shoot early in the morning. 430am departed from my place and reached there around 6am. The day was still very dark, again torchlight was the only equipment we can rely on in order to climb up the hill. The journey last time took around 45mins before reaching the hill top, this time the journey was only about 30mins. Broga hill, which is getting popular nowadays has attracted many climber and tourist for a hike. It is an easy to hike hill, short distance, interesting view and journey, windy place, with sun rise to see, with great view to enjoy and with fresh air to release stress. Lets enjoy some the pictures i took there…
Thanks for coming to the end!

It had been a fabulous Famine 30 for a total of 30 hours of ‘hunger’ to feel what the hungry country is feeling, Hunger! Hunger is a very very serious issue since a long time ago but it seems like the government and the world is not paying too much attention to it. Hunger involved millions of people and kids in the world and it kills many many of them due to NOT ENOUGH food! Please appreciate what you have today and help those who are in need!
I went to UTAR Famine 30 DIY Camp for a shoot out, but i was not the camper there(i only famine for 9 hours, lol! But i appreciate what i learned!) This time, i went with my new D300 to try out the performance for the first time on event shooting! What to comment about this new machine? I rated 8.5/10 while my previous camera i only can rate 5.5/10. Dramatic increase of performance isn’t it? I am satisfied with its focusing speed, focusing accuracy, high ISO performance, Nikon Active D-lighting performance, fast switching of setting, long lasting battery, enough power of flash, high resolution LCD screen and many more! But…i need a vertical grip MB-D10 to increase my stability for vertical shots!
It was a two days event, the first day was in UTAR PJ while the second day was in Stadium Putra Indoor Stadium for a 6 hours countdown. Ah mei,Taiwan singer came to support the event representing World Vision. Besides, artists like Gary Yap, Danell, Jaclyn, Guang Liang, and so on also came to support the event. It had been a great event for youngsters to learn about the moral story behind this event. 70% of the campers were only primary/secondary school students while the remaining were Universities student and working adult. A total of 6000-7000 campers were flooding the stadium. All were super energetic youngsters although they had not been eating for the pass 24hours. As we all know the A H1N1 Influenza is getting more serous recently, but, their spirit was not drown. All came with mask protected, temperature checked and hand antiseptic’ed! Let’s take a look at part of the event that i have shot!

This trip was planned since last semester and it didn’t come into a fine defined decision. Until week 1 of the new semester, we still struggled whether to make it on Week 1 or Week 2 or Week 3. After some analysis done, Week 2 was the week that most people can make it! So how? WEEK 2!
There were 21 people in the trip. It was such a large number of trip althought we can make it around 25 too. We planned the trip carefully. No real commitment without paying any money. So, RM50 per person must be paid to boss as soon as possible to keep their commitment on the trip. Fortunately, only 2 people presented us aeroplanes and we still able to make the trip a success!
Okay, i don’t talk too much already, knowing that you start to boring now. Let’s see photos!
This was basically a EAT Trip at Melaka, we had been to try many of the delicious and famous food! By spending less than a RM100 for the whole trip, it was a really meaningful, memorable, amazing, exciting, wonderful and busy eating trip!

It has been some time since my last post ‘The Kids’. This time i would like to bring something familiar to Chinese people, a celebration of the Chinese, the 端午节, or Rice Dumpling Festival, or the Dragon Boat Festival. Every year, i went to my grandmother’s house once again to capture my grandma making the cute little Rice Dumpling,粽子. Making rice dumpling is definitely not an easy job because it required hand skills, cooking skills, and of course, patience. Rice dumpling is traditionally packed using the bamboo leaf. At least two pieces are needed in order to hold the rice in order.
“Duan Wu Jie is a widely celebrated festival amongst the Chinese, to pay respect to the patriotic poet, Qu Yuan (pronounced as Chue Yuan). The legend involves a really long and complicated throne-fighting war and political history. But to make a long story short: Qu Yuan was an important minister back in Chu Kingdom in ancient China. He had been known for his loyalty for the emperor of Chu, and loved his country greatly. However, His Majesty had not taken Qu Yuan’s advice seriously, and he eventually got himself trapped and captured in a foreign land by his enemies, which then lead to his own deathSad and angry at the corrupted, dying Kingdom, Qu Yuan tied himself to a big rock and threw himself into the River of Puo Luo. The people then made rice dumplings wrapped in bamboo leaves and threw them into the river. They believed this would stop the fish from eating Qu Yuan’s body. Some would even row down stream in a boat, beating drums and shouting out loud in the hope to scare the fish away (it was believed that it is how the Dragon Boat event is related to the festivalSince then, the 5th day of the 5th month in the Chinese calendar has been set as Duan Wu Festival to remember the incident. Although there were versions of legends and stories that indicate Duan Wu has existed way before Qu Yuan’s death, the tradition still carries onThe rice dumplings (ZongZi) are glutinous rice (or sticky rice in some countries like Thailand and Hong Kong) wrapped in bamboo leaves, or other large leaves (lotus is one of the more commonly used leaves). You can find all sorts of different fillings in the rice: pork, roast pork, chestnut, egg, salted egg, mushroom, red bean, or just simply without filling. They could be just white rice dumpling (not pre-fried), or brown (pre-fried with soya sauce)Nowadays, you can buy Zongzi almost everyday of the year, in restaurants or hawker stores in most oriental countries such as China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Singapore, and other Asian countries where large amount of Chinese reside.” – story originally picked from HERE
